Women’s decisions to be pregnant can be influenced by many factors.  But it is ultimately derived from the desire to have a family.  To increase your chances of getting pregnant, you have to know the dos and don'ts of getting pregnant.  The advices that will be mentioned are simple.  They have been proven by health experts on to how to get pregnant fast.

Understanding women’s cycles is the key to conception.   Your ovulation period is often called as fertile time of your cycle.  A woman normally has 28 day cycle.  If you have a normal cycle, you just have to count 14 days from the first day of your period to figure out your day of ovulation.  For women who have irregular cycle, an ovulation kit is helpful in determining your most fertile days.

A typical ovulation kit detects the level of luteinizing hormone in your urine.  The hormone is one of the hormones that indicate the ovaries to release an ovum.  The surge of this hormone occurs 36 hours before your ovulation.  Ovulation kits do not detect this until 24 hour prior.  If you have a normal 28 day cycle, it is best to check your hormone levels nine or ten days after the start of your monthly period in order not to miss the surge.

Another way to detect your ovulation period is basing measuring your basal body temperature.  Experts believe that your body temperature dip by a half degree a day before your ovulation.  It then goes up as you ovulate.  However, this method should not be relied alone since several factors may affect your temperature such as illness.

Now that you have understood the concept of your monthly cycle (you can read more in this pregnancy guide), you will now know the best timing to have sex to increase your chances of getting pregnant.Health experts noted that pregnancy rate peaks 48 hours before ovulation.  Once you detect the hormonal surge, have sex that day and the following days.Sperms have the capability to live inside the uterus for 24 to 48 hours.  According to experts, the timing is also appropriate since the egg only survives one to two days after ovulation.  When you ovulated this morning and decided to have sex in the evening, the egg may lose its viability and the sperm may not it in time.

Another point to remember is to have frequent sex.  This is very basic but is often taken for granted by couples due to other commitments.  If you have a busy week, schedule some time with your partner and match it with your cycle.  You should also keep sex fun and not treat it as task.  Also, you have to do away with habits that could interfere with the conception.  Give it time and soon you will have what you wish for.
